A software art-piece:

This brief video shows a software application I created using the Processing framework, to instantiate the word 'Dream'. This app searches the web for pictures tagged 'dream' and then renders them in a soft fuzzy dream-like atmosphere with some manipulation of the colors and the focus point.

A sustained cast drawing in charcoal, using a bust of Caesar:

A sculpey (oven-baked clay) project:

The project here was to instantiate the word 'precious'. The term 'Precious' naturally makes one think of Gollum (from LOTR) ... which led me to: a precious treasure-chest-like box within which exist mole-rat-type cannibal-ish creatures with their precious glowing radioactive meteor-stone-thing which they protect and worship (can you tell I watch too many b-movies? :) ). Anyway, the creatures are sculpted from sculpey, painted with acrylic, and the glow effects originate from a programmable LED light embedded in this 'sculpture'.

Skull studies. Here is the same skull drawn ~100 different times from multiple angles, with the individual images making up the shape of a larger skull:

Two quick (~1 hour long) cast studies in charcoal on cheap paper:

Here's a book cover I did last December (2012) for Scholastic for a young adult novel titled 'Red Turban White Horse' by New England author Nandini Bajpai. The book was just announced in the World Book Fair in New Delhi India, seen below in the back row, second from right:

Here it is in the lineup for Scholastic's new YA imprint 'Nova', right next to - if I may say so - the hunger games :)

And since you can't really see the cover image in the last 2 pictures, here's a closeup:

The illustration was done using a variety of digital tools including Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and Corel Painter 12.
